La Palma’s creative direction was inspired by a retro editorial aesthetic, drawing from vintage menus, still-life photography, aged textures, and analog typography catalogs. The design system was prototyped through an AI-assisted workflow with multimodal prompting approach. The prompts defined the typographic hierarchy, editorial composition, mood, and key visual characteristics, while the reference images served as visual anchors for the generative model. From the AI-generated prototyped, I identified and refined the strongest visual directions before translating them into a structured design system built on consistent grids, defined typography styles, a coded color palette, and reusable modular components. This hybrid workflow significantly reduced the time required for visual exploration, typically the most time-intensive stage of the creative process, while enabling the exploration and evaluation of a much broader range of aesthetic directions.
